The
Community Health Centres offer prenatal education,
postnatal follow-up, information on infant and child care issues, early intervention
services for children with disabilities & resource referral.
Some of the offices
offer the Nobody’s Perfect parenting program.
FCSS
provides a variety of programs to individuals,
families and youth, as well as Family School Liaisons, Youth
Workers and resource referral. These programs include working with students
(including teens) and their families on issues that are
causing the families and students great stress and
difficulty.
This
service is available across the area. It offers a
pre-natal nutritional program and/or support
workers to visit families (including pregnant and parenting
adolescents) to support them on a one-to-one
basis.
These further education groups often run educational programs
on child and parenting issues.

for sexual assault.
This
unit of volunteers provides support to victims of crime that
can take a number of different forms. They can provide
immediate support after a crime right through to providing
support during court appearances and victim impact
statements.
Telephone referral and support for people experiencing
crisis
The
mental health therapists provide free confidential
counseling on a variety of mental health issues including
crisis intervention, post-traumatic stress disorder and
depression. They also will refer to other more specialized
services (e.g., psychiatry), if needed.
The
offices are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. Some
of the offices also have evening clinic hours and can be
flexible with their hours, if necessary.

The Sexual
Health Consultant will help individuals and their families
with referrals, information and support.The program also
takes advantage of opportunities to raise community
awareness and acceptance of sexual orientation and about
developing health body image and body acceptance.
Mental
health therapists will provide free confidential counseling
around depression and issues related to sexual orientation.
They also will refer to other more specialized services
(e.g., the Grey Nuns Outpatient Gender Clinic), if needed.
